Mrs. Brown

Funeral services for Linda Gail Fonville Brown, 76, of Brownwood were March 22 at First Christian Church of Brownwood. Burial was at May Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown died March 19.

She was born Aug. 18, 1933, in Galveston, the daughter of Fred W. and Willie Bell Herring Fonville. Mrs. Brown graduated from Brownwood High School and Howard Payne University with a bachelor’s degree.

She married Billy Harlow Brown on July 22, 1950, and they were married almost 60 years.

Mrs. Brown was active in the Good Samaritans, Brownwood Quilt Guild, Busy Bee Quilting Club of Lake Victor, Meals on Wheels, Eastern Star and First Christian Church. She started the “rattle fund” at her church.

Mrs. Brown quilted more than 60 quilts for children at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy and Darrell Moore of Early, Patricia Roberts and Brad Lancaster of Lampasas, and Kathy and Alan Washington of Lometa; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lynn Brown.
