Mike and Dawna Herring of Carrollton are the parents of a daughter, Emily Kate, born Feb. 25, 2010, in Carrollton.

At birth, Emily weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches in length.

She joins a sister, Amy Ann, 2.

Grandparents are Travis and Mary Ann Herring of Lometa, and Floyd and Ina Dawson of Rowlett.
