Carroll-Lara Vernon and Lisa Simpson of Lampasas, and Steve Carroll of San Antonio announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebekah Kathleen, to David Lino Lara, son of Rene and Suzan Cruz of Haltom City, and Lino Lara of Fort Worth.

The couple plan a June 12, 2010, ceremony at Adamsville Baptist Church.

Miss Carroll is a graduate of Lampasas High School. She earned a bachelor of science degree in alllevel special education from Tarleton State University.

She is a teacher/coach at Lampasas Middle School.

Mr. Lara is a graduate of Carter- Riverside High School in Fort Worth. He earned a bachelor of science degree in exercise and sports studies from Howard Payne University in Brownwood.

The prospective bridegroom is a teacher/coach at Cater-Riverside High School.
