Despite failing to score the run, Lampasas won the game 6-2. Three-day weekends are supposed to be relaxing, but the Badgers baseball and Lady Badgers softball teams had little time to rest.

The two teams combined to play 10 in three days as the Lady Badgers went 3-3 at the second annual CenTex Hit-n-Run Classic in Belton, while the Badgers lost their first three before capping off their stay at the Shoemaker Wolf Pack Classic in Killeen with a win.

The Lady Badgers opened their stay in Belton with a one-run loss, 3-2, to No. 15 Lorena before bouncing back to shut out Liberty Hill 6-0 in their second game Thursday.

The first game of the second day began and ended the same way as the tournament opener for the Lady Badgers who suffered a 3-2 loss to Lorena.

A trend of alternating wins and losses continued on Saturday as the Lady Badgers followed a 4-0 shutout loss to Frenship with a 7-6 beating of Brownwood.

The Lady Badgers are off until Saturday when they play a doubleheader at Gatesville beginning at 1 p.m.

Lampasas allowed its opponents to score 30 runs over its first three losses before defeating district foe Killeen by seven runs, 12-5, in their tournament finale.

Colin Scheafnocker put his stamp on the win by hitting a grand slam home run in the fourth inning en route to recording six RBIs. On the mound, the senior finished with six strikeouts.

The performance helped Scheafnocker land on the alltournament team with teammate Vann Millican.

Lampasas opened play by falling to Bryan Rudder 11-3 Thursday evening. Immediately following the loss, the Badgers returned to the diamond where Waco shut out the weary team 8-0.

The Badgers had a quick turnaround, facing Austin Travis early Friday morning and lost in a high-scoring game by three runs, 11-8.

The Badgers (3-7 overall) return to Killeen today for a 6 p.m. start at Shoemaker.
