Finney-Harris
Rachel and Braxton Harris Rachel Finney and Braxton Harris of Austin, both former Lampasas residents, were united in marriage in a Nov. 21, 2009, ceremony at Horseshoe Bay Resort.
Minister Robert Lindsey of Lampasas officiated the doublering afternoon ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Deorald and Melodie Finney.
The groom is the son of DeMar and Hilton Hopson, and Mike and Gerri Harris. He is the grandson of Jo Holley and Bill and Jean Huffman.
Lake LBJ was the backdrop for the ceremony on the resort’s outside patio. White lawn chairs were decorated with orange flower accents. Palm trees and white lights completed the setting.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore an ivory strapless gown with ruching in the front. Covered buttons ran down the V-back and it had beaded accents.
The bride wore an orange Asiatic lily in her hair and had on zebraprint shoes.
To complement her gown, the bride carried a nosegay of orange Asiatic lilies, lime-green spider lilies, hypericum berries, red minicarnations and lime buttons.
Maid of honor was Whitney Null.
Bridesmaids included the groom’s sister, Krista Harris; Darla Stapleton, cousin of the bride; and Brooke DuBose and Kristi Morua.
Attendants wore knee-length chocolate brown dresses with various bodice styles. They carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet.
Best man was Jason Harris, the groom’s brother.
Groomsmen were Heath Hopson, brother of the groom; Michael Finney, the bride’s brother; and Michael Munn and Justin Roden.
Ushers were Zane Richardson and Andrew Rollins.
Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride’s parents.
Tables were covered with brown zebra-print centerpiece cloths on top of white linens. Center arrangements included the same flowers that were in the bridal bouquet.
The bride’s four-tiered cake had a chocolate zebra print with orange accents.
The groom’s camouflage cake was topped with a buck’s head. The table was decorated in a hunting theme.
The couple is at home in Austin. The bride and groom are 2004 graduates of Lampasas High School.
The bride graduated from Texas State University.
The groom graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. He is a game warden with Texas Parks & Wildlife.
A Mexican-themed rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents at Horseshoe Bay Resort on the Horseshoe Bay Yacht. The boat cruised Lake LBJ for several hours while guests ate and enjoyed the view.
