One season after going 0-10 through District 25-4A competition, the Lady Badgers rebounded to go 3-7 in district, falling just two games shy of their season-long goal of reaching the postseason.
While all the teammates contributed to Lampasas’ success, five were recognized by the rival coaches when the District 25-4A All-District Teams were released.
Senior Lauren Barlow received the highest praise by being named to the first team, while junior Kayla Prescott landed on the second team.
“Barlow is the only first team alldistrict member we’ve had that I can remember,” Lampasas head coach Stuart Beckwith said. “Perhaps since 1992, but I can’t verify that.

While Barlow and first-year Lady Badger Prescott got the most attention, Sarah Bishop, Kallen Vann and Madison Morris were all placed on the honorable mentions list.
Although Bishop will be graduating, Vann and Morris are both set to return for their senior seasons in 2011.
Hendrickson picked up the most individual awards as Katherine Tolbert split the offensive MVP with Marble Falls’ Lindsay Ansley, and Tera Hollywood was named coach of the year.
District MVP was presented to Killeen senior Jasmine Baugus, while the defensive MVP award was given to Elaine Houston, of Lake Travis.
Hutto junior Michel Braswell narrowly edged out Prescott for newcomer of the year.
Hendrickson and Killeen, the two top teams from the district, combined for seven of the 16 firstand second-team selections.
Lampasas was the only team to finish with three honorable mentions.
All but one Lady Badger made the academic all-district list.
