Commissioners to discuss junkyards

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court on Monday will consider two agenda items about junkyards.

The court, which will meet at 9 a.m. in the first-floor courtroom at the county courthouse, will consider an ordinance to require county licensing of junkyards and automotive wrecking and salvage yards. Commissioners also will discuss procedures to reapply for licenses to operate, expand or change the locations of junkyards or automotive wrecking and salvage yards.

In addition, the court will discuss subdivision regulations and will consider sending Chica Ranch a letter to indicate non-compliance with those regulations.

Other agenda items include possible changes to the county’s rabies and animal-control ordinance, a racial profiling report, and the award of a bid for asphalt and emulsion.

Members of the public may address the Commissioners Court for no longer than five minutes at the beginning of the meeting. State law prevents commissioners from discussing or taking action on items presented during the public forum portion of the meeting.
