Cox, Brister win contested primaries
Precinct 4 county commissioner defeats Republican challenger; Brister tops 3 other GOP candidates
Precinct 4 County Commissioner Jack B. Cox outpolled Republican challenger Marcus Foster 59 percent to 41 percent. Cox will face Democrat Brent Henderson in the November general election.
Camron Brister garnered 315 votes, or 59 percent of the Republican primary total for Precinct 2 & 3 justice of the peace, to avoid a runoff. Brister topped incumbent Dick Lockett, who received 84 votes, or about 16 percent. David Ivey garnered about 13 percent of the vote with 69 votes, and W.D. Crain took 12 percent with 65 votes.
