Everyday woman
Molley Moseley-Lepard was flown to Florida to pose for ads for Stein Mart. Molley Moseley-Lepard is an everyday woman. And if there were any doubt, large retailer Stein Mart put that to rest when it cast the former Lampasas resident in one of its newest media ads.
As a preferred customer on the Stein Mart Web site, Mrs. Lepard received an e-mail with information on an open-casting call. “I thought, ‘Why not?’” she said.
She sent in a short video she filmed while standing in her bedroom closet surrounded by her wardrobe of Stein Mart clothing.
The video, recorded on her iPhone, had Mrs. Lepard relating why she shops at the retail store. “I said it’s because I am a working mother, and I have to shop on a budget. I told them it is a nobrainer that I would shop at Stein Mart.”
The 30-second video impressed the corporate powers that be, and Mrs. Lepard -- now a resident of Willow Park near Fort Worth -- was one of three selected from more than 200 entries sent in. She was flown to Jacksonville, Fla., on Jan. 23.
Getting her hair done and going for wardrobe fittings were all exciting facets of the modeling experience. The following week, she received a phone call notifying her she was picked to model clothing for either this year’s spring or summer commercial that will air in March on a nationwide television campaign.
She also will appear on print ads.
Mrs. Lepard was flown to Orlando, Fla., the first week of February for fittings and the commercial shooting.
“I got to participate in wardrobe, hair and makeup,” she said. “It was pretty exciting. I had so much fun.”
In addition to appearing in the ads, Mrs. Lepard was presented a $500 Stein Mart gift card.
A marketing director for a retirement community (which she calls a cruise ship on land) and the wife and mother of sons ages 16 and 5, Mrs. Lepard said she was flattered by being selected.
“I am flattered that at 39 someone actually wanted me to do this. It was an awesome experience that I will remember forever.”
No stranger to being photographed, Mrs. Lepard previously appeared in a Bath & Body Works ad, did several commercials and handled voice-over work. “I really wanted to continue but life, work and kids came along. So when this chance came by, I just had to take it.”
Due to time restrictions and other obligations, Mrs. Lepard said she can’t envision herself in that type of career. “But it was fun while it lasted.”
The 1989 Lampasas High School graduate is the daughter of Sonny Moseley of Izoro, and Patsy and Henry Stoneham of Lampasas.
In the next several weeks, Mrs. Lepard’s photo will appear on the Stein Mart Web site’s “Sisterhood” link, where photos of each of the “everyday women” selected are highlighted. Visitors to the site will be able to “flip” through a virtual book to see the women chosen for the spring and summer collections.
