New sports policy

Attention all football and other sport parents:

I was informed today by Athletic Director Joey McQueen, due to policy, parents will not be allowed to sit behind their child’s team at Lampasas High School. The athletic department and coaches decided this was in the best interest of our children so we are not hollering at them. Below you will find his direct quote:

“We do not want anyone sitting behind either team. This is our policy to prevent parents or anyone from hollering at our coaches or our kids.”

I have a child in soccer and boys who will be playing football. Due to the changes of policy, how can we support our child’s team?

This year has been the hardest for me to tolerate. With the new high school I understand come new challenges and minor things to work out until all is finished. The soccer parents have been very understanding in this transition. We have been asked to endure a lot, from no bathrooms, no concession stand, no scoreboard, can’t play on rainy days, etc.

When I asked about Badger Stadium, I was never answered, just informed with the new field at the high school Badger Stadium is to be phased out. Now we are told we cannot sit behind our team on a home game; we must sit together with the visitors on one side.

So, with the phasing out of Badger Stadium and new bleachers at the high school we cannot use, what is next for the waste of our tax dollars?

I do not believe at an LISD Badger football game they would tell the parents the home stands are closed, and they have to sit on the other side. Baseball and softball, they cannot sit behind their dugouts?

So, with this in mind, are we going to see changes in all sports? No one is allowed to sit behind their team. What kind of policy would not allow us parents to support our children?

I am sorry, LISD. I come to the games to support my children and the Badger soccer team, not the visiting school or their parents.
