Funeral Mass for Manuela Sapien, 91, of Lampasas was celebrated Feb. 19, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Feb. 18.

Mrs. Sapien was born Sept. 10, 1918, in Bertram, the daughter of Francisco and Teofila Jass Longoria.

She married Gumecinto Sapien on May 27, 1938, in Burnet. They were married for 56 years before his death on March 25, 1995.

Mrs. Sapien was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include four sons, Ines Sapien Sr. of Richardson, Joe Sapien and Selestino Sapien, both of Lampasas, and Daniel Sapien of Dallas; two daughters, Adela Sapien and Frances Arzula, both of Lampasas; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 15 greatgreat grandchildren; and one sister, Lupe Longoria of San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Tony Sapien, and by four sisters and five brothers.
