Youths recognized at San Antonio show

Michael Fisher showed the reserve grand boar. A number of Lampasas students participated in the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. Results for several divisions follow.

Blake Oestreich placed first with his Chianana breeding heifer.

In the breeding swine junior and open show, Michael Fisher had the reserve champion spotted Poland China boar.

Joe Vaillencourt placed second with his Duroc gilt and showed for grand champion breed in the junior show. He also took third for his Duroc in the open show and second in the Hampshire breed open show.

Kirby Kennedy was fifth with her Chester white breed and fifth with her Yorkshire breed. She also earned a fifth-place showing in the junior swine show with her Duroc.

Kleg Kennedy finished in 10th with his Yorkshire breed, and fifth with his Hampshire breed in the junior show.

Nolan Ramon ended in ninth places with his Chester white and Duroc gilt in the junior show, and was third with his Chester white gilt in the open swine show.

Kirby Kennedy took several awards with her swine. In the junior breeding heifer competition, Braedon Raub was sixth in showmanship at the Simbrah Breed Heifer Shootout, and won his class and a belt buckle. He also took second and fifth with two Simbrah breeding heifers in two age categories.

Lucas Atkinson finished in first place with his class 4 Charolais heifer, and fifth place with his older Charolais breeding heifer.
