Gravel truck totaled
Miraculously, the driver of this truck-tractor and semi-trailer suffered only a broken leg after his 18-wheeler crashed into the School Creek Bridge Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 281, 10 miles north of Lampasas. The truck landed some 40 to 50 feet below the bridge on the north bank of the creek, and the truck’s engine was ripped from the frame, but tree limbs helped cushion the blow and probably saved the driver’s life, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
