Television station KPLE will hold its sixth annual banquet Feb. 16 at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and Big Daddy’s Barbeque will begin serving at 6:15 p.m.

Representatives from Trinity Broadcasting Network will be on hand to congratulate KPLE on being awarded “No. 1 Low-Power Station for 2010” by National Religious Broadcasters. The station also received the award in 2007. Selection is based on community involvement, quality of work and promoting biblical teaching.

Chaplain Lt. Col. Kenneth R. Sorenson, who has just returned from Iraq, will be the keynote speaker at the banquet. Chaplain Col. Mike Lembke and daughter Heidi will bring special music, with an emphasis on honoring the military.

Fred Shepherd, a Korean and World War II veteran, will provide dinner music. The 50-voice Central Texas Master Singers will open the program.

Reservations for individual tickets ($20 each) and reserved tables can be made by calling (254) 554- 3683 or (877) 554-5673.
