The Lady Badgers picked the worst possible time to suffer through a shooting slump.

Riding a two-game losing streak and sitting one game back of the district’s fourth and final playoff spot, Lampasas played to a 52-52 tie at the end of regulation before going scoreless in overtime to lose 63-52 at Hutto.

“We had chances to win in regulation, but could not take advantage,” Lampasas head coach Stuart Beckwith said. “We ran out of gas in overtime and lost our heads.

“We really let one slip through our fingers.”

The Lady Badgers (10-17, 2-4 District 25-4A) took a 45-37 lead into the fourth quarter, but were outscored 26-7 by Hutto (18-12, 4- 2) over the final period and overtime.

Senior Lauren Barlow finished with a game-high 20 points, and guard Kayla Prescott added 13 points. Marisa Bogart also finished in double figures, scoring 10.

Lampasas travels to Hendrickson (22-6, 4-2) tonight for a 7 p.m. start.
