Texas Secretary of State Esperanza “Hope” Andrade reminded Texans that Monday is the deadline to register to vote in the 2010 primary elections.

The registration process is simple, she said. Voter registration applications are available at county election offices, some post offices and libraries, or online at www.votexas.org.

Individuals may also check online to see if they are registered or to update their registration information if they have moved within the state. Any changes to a voter’s registration should be made by Monday to be applicable to March primary elections.

“Voting is an important part of being a Texan, and my office is committed to ensuring that every eligible voter understands their rights and can have confidence in the integrity of our election process,” said Ms. Andrade. “As we move forward into the new year, I hope my fellow Texans will join me in participating in this great democratic process.”
