Girl Scout cookie sales under way

Girl Scouts of Central Texas will put their leadership skills to practice during the annual cookies program, as they encourage customers to buy at least five boxes to have a chance to win a year’s supply of Girl Scout cookies.

“Girl Scout cookies are delicious,” said Theresa Claiborne, product sales manager, “but they also are part of an educational program teaching girls public speaking, goal-setting and money management skills.”

Cookie sales started this week in local communities and run through Feb. 26. This season, girls will be able to take cookie orders online.

Eight varieties are available.
