Adopt a Pet

Billy is a friendly male Australian cattle dog, who is full of energy. He is very friendly and gets along well with others. His tolerance for cats is based on the particular cat. Billy's coat is the typical blue merle with brown accents.

Please call Along the Road Home Animal Shelter near Kempner at 556-4662 to inquire about adopting Billy or one of the many other dogs and cats available at the shelter.

There is an adoption fee and state law requires sterilization.

Additional animals may be available at the Lampasas Animal Shelter, 301 College Street. Phone 556-8586 for information.

Along the Road Home Animal Shelter will set up an adoption site Saturday, weather permitting, at the parking lot of Auto Zone. Look for the white signs.

Donations of dog and cat food, toys, other related items, cat litter or cash are appreciated to support the shelter’s efforts to care for homeless pets.

The shelter is a non-profit animal welfare organization, and all donations go toward care of the animals. Donations are tax-deductible.

Triple R Recycling on FM 580 East (just across the railroad tracks) and Kempner Metal on Hill Street in Kempner are accepting aluminum cans, newspaper and plastic on account for the shelter.

Please drop off items at the recycling center or during any adoption site visit or phone the shelter for pick-up.
