Mrs. Standard
Funeral services for Lillian Lee Standard, 97, of Lampasas were Jan. 20, 2010, at Sneed Funeral Chapel with Ministers Jerry Perkins and Reid Schaub officiating. Burial was at Smith School Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Standard died Jan. 17 at Spring Oaks Terrace Nursing & Rehab.
She was born Feb. 10, 1912, in Waller County, the daughter of Joseph Norwood and Della Jarvis Cook.
As a youngster, she played basketball and softball, and enjoyed being around horses.
She married Victor Mitchell Standard on Oct. 3, 1934, in Fort Worth.
Mrs. Standard had been a Lampasas County resident since 1930. She received nursing training at what is now the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton.
She served as church treasurer at School Creek Baptist Church for many years where she was a member, and also belonged to Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 295 in Lampasas.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Sue Tracy of Tahlequah, Okla., and Amelia Del Denning of Lampasas; 12 grandchildren, Pamela Howard, Kimberly Parrett, Kevin Tracy, Mitch Tracy, Shelly McKenzie, Chris Denning, Joyce Elder, Gary Standard, Nancy Kanetsky, James Standard, Byron Standard and Darin Standard; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; by three sisters, Bertha, Flora and Ora; and two brothers, Joseph and Juniorus.
Memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Crippled Children’s Hospital.
