Lampasas native and Brazoria resident R.D. “Bob” Jernigan, 69, died Jan. 18, 2010, in Lake Jackson.

Funeral services were Jan. 21 at Gilliam Cemetery at Briggs.

Mr. Jernigan was born March 7, 1940, in Lampasas, the son of Eugene and Edna Jernigan.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked for Chemical Lerman as a dispatcher for 10 years. He retired from the Port of Houston.

Survivors include his wife of more than 34 years, Deborah Jernigan of Brazoria; a son, Jeffrey Jernigan and wife, Katy, of Deer Park; a daughter, Jennifer Jernigan Sembera and husband, Adolph, of Angleton; a brother, William Calvin Jernigan of Brazoria; and grandchildren, Emily Sembera, Brittany Murray, Courtney Sembera, Louis Sembera, Lexee Church and Shane Moore.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kelly Eugene Jernigan.
