In one night, the Lady Badgers did something they had not done since 2007.

They won a district game.

The Lady Badgers defeated Lake Travis 57-51 on the road Friday evening to snap a nearly threeyear long district losing streak and give Stuart Beckwith his first district victory as head coach.

“The kids played hard, and they went in with the belief they would win,” the coach said.

Madison Morris led Lampasas with 15 points, while three others scored eight points apiece. Sarah Bishop, Kayla Prescott and Lauren Barlow all fell just short of reaching double digits in points.

Barlow was just shy of recording an impressive double-double with eight points and 14 rebounds. Hailey Morrison added seven points and eight rebounds.

Lampasas jumped out to a 14-10 lead by the end of the first quarter before pushing their advantage to six points, 29-23, at halftime.

Despite falling behind by a point in the fourth quarter, Lampasas rallied to win the game by six points.

With the victory, Lampasas improves to 1-2 in the District 25- 4A race, 9-14 overall, tying them with Hendrickson for the fourth and final spot in the playoffs.

The Lady Badgers host firstplace Marble Falls (12-11, 3-0 district) tonight at 7 p.m.

“We can throw a monkey wrench in the whole district race when they come to our place [tonight],” Beckwith said.
