Trash on roads

2010-01-19 / Letters

This morning, I took a short walk with my dogs down the county road I live on just outside of town. I picked up 13 beer cans and a discarded paint can that I used to help carry them home.

I’ll take them to the local Senior Center for their recycling project, but I was dismayed by what I wasn’t able to carry home, since I didn’t bring along a trash bag: fast-food wrappers and cups, glass, beer bottles, empty cigarette and candy packages and other trash lined both sides of the road.

I thought Texans were proud of their state. Isn’t Lampasas part of Texas? Don’t mess with it!
