Billie Morrison Streit, 82, of Vernon died Jan. 8, 2010, in Vernon.

Funeral services were Jan. 11 at Zion Lutheran Church in the Lockett community southwest of Vernon with the Rev. Kenneth Bersche officiating.

Burial followed at Wilbarger Memorial Park.

Mrs. Streit was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Margaret, the daughter of Grant and Ola Black Morrison.

She married Karl Streit on Aug. 6, 1947, in Borger, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2006.

A resident of the Lockett community and Vernon most of her life, Mrs. Streit was a homemaker and she worked with her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed baking, gardening and bridge.

She was a member of the Lockett Extension Club, 4-H and Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Kim Streit of Vernon, Kelly Kyle and husband, Rick, of Fredericksburg and Karen Love and husband, David, of Lampasas; one son, Kent Streit and wife, Christine, of Nassau Bay; a sister, Rae Black of Fort Collins, Colo.; five grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Vernon.
