Carl Gene “Liberace” Hamilton, 72, of Lampasas died Jan. 16, 2010, at Regal Nursing & Rehab.

Funeral services are Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel with Brother Preston Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Burnet County.

Visitation is Jan. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Mr. Hamilton was born Feb. 22, 1937, in Burnet County, the son of Leroy and Nattie Mae Minton Hamilton.

He was a lifelong resident of the area and had worked for Fulton Brown for many years, and continued to work for Burke Brown at Brown Feed Store.

Mr. Hamilton loved to sing, earning him the nickname “Liberace.” He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lampasas.

Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Greenberg of Lampasas; one sister, Juanita Fay Carroll of Lampasas; three brothers, Nathan Hamilton of Lampasas, Marvin Hamilton of Kempner and Donald Hamilton of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, Kelby Wagner, Skye Wagner and Hannah Greenberg; and one great-grandchild, Kyley Medrano.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Leroy Hamilton, and by a sister, Sybil.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Cemetery Association.
