A two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning sent a Lampasas woman to Rollins Brook Community Hospital.

Police received a call at 7:50 a.m. about the accident at U.S. Highway 281 South and Naruna Road.

Patricia Buchanan, of Lampasas, was northbound on U.S. 281 in a 2006 Dodge sedan and was attempting to turn left on to Naruna Road, Traffic Officer Dean Werlinger said.

Michelle Betts, also of Lampasas, was in a northbound 1979 Ford Mustang behind the Dodge. Ms. Betts did not see Ms. Buchanan turning left and struck the front vehicle with the Ford’s left front fender, Werlinger said.

The driver of the rear vehicle swerved but was unable to avoid a collision, the police officer said.

Ms. Buchanan was taken by Capital Ambulance to the Lampasas hospital with apparently minor injuries, Werlinger said. Ms. Betts received no injuries, he said.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene, Werlinger said.
