Thomas Doyle Christian died Jan. 13, 2010. He was 57.

A memorial service will be held Jan. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas.

Mr. Christian was born March 18, 1942, in Port Arthur, the son of Buck and Mary Christian.

After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, he moved with his family to San Saba, and later received a bachelor of arts from Southwest Texas State University in math/physics.

After serving in the National Guard and Reserves, he became an engineer with Texas Instruments and later taught school in Llano and Galena Park.

Mr. Christian’s hobbies included piloting his own plane, cattle ranching, hunting, boating and playing cards.

He was a member of First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas.

Survivors include a son, Dale Christian and wife, Jennifer, of College Station, and their daughters, Natalie and Alanna; a daughter, Dr. Dawn Riordan and husband, Shea, of College Station, and their daughters, Charlotte and Gillian; a brother, Jerry Christian and wife, Sheila, of San Antonio; three nephews and one niece and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Charles Dale Christian.
