Burnet County Republicans Club Inc. and Burnet County Republican Women’s Club will cohost a chili cook-off fund-raising event on Jan. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Burnet County Fairgrounds, 1301 Houston Clifton Dr.

All current Burnet County elected officials and those seeking office in the coming primary election are invited to participate.

Advance tickets are $7 each from Marilynn Goode at (512) 355-2374 or Kara Chasteen, (512) 489-2266. Members of both clubs also are selling tickets.

Advance tickets must be purchased by Jan. 22. General admission tickets will be available on the day of the event for $8 per person.

Proceeds from the fund-raiser will benefit Burnet County Republican Club. For information on joining either club, contact Mrs. Goode or Camille Sweigart at (830) 798- 2477.

Joint primary election voting for Burnet County begins with early voting Feb. 16-26. Election day is March 2.

The final day to register to vote in the primary election is Feb. 1.
