Lampasan Juverna Bogard has been nurturing her lemon tree for the past 10-plus years, and it really bore fruit this last season. She harvested 164 lemons, her best crop to date. Kempner resident Helen Louise Ray, 83, died Jan. 3, 2010, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Graveside services were Jan. 6 at Kempner City Cemetery with Minister Reid Schaub officiating. Mrs. Ray was born Jan. 5, 1926, the daughter of Dave and Olive Bowers Goodman. She married Marvin Ray on Sept. 19, 1942, in Lampasas County. More...
