Kempner resident Helen Louise Ray, 83, died Jan. 3, 2010, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.

Graveside services were Jan. 6 at Kempner City Cemetery with Minister Reid Schaub officiating.

Mrs. Ray was born Jan. 5, 1926, the daughter of Dave and Olive Bowers Goodman.

She married Marvin Ray on Sept. 19, 1942, in Lampasas County.

Mrs. Ray was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and wildlife. She was a member of Kempner Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Gloria and J.H. Reavis of Killeen; grandchildren, Robert Reavis and wife, Maria, of Hawaii, and Christie Elmore and husband, Brook, of Harker Heights; and great-grandchildren, Tanner and Cody Elmore.

She was preceded in death by her husband; by a brother, Charles Goodman; and a sister, Naomi Williamson.
