CT-scan gives Lampasas new convenience
medical disaster, and at Rollins Brook Community Hospital, the probability of catching previously unnoticed abnormalities has become significantly greater.
The hospital recently received a new Toshiba Aquillion-16 slice computed tomography scanner for advanced CT scan imaging, including CT angiography for pulmonary embolism detection and 3- D data sets for musculoskeletal imaging.
“This scanner will help us to better serve our community through early detection and prevention services that were not readily available in our area,” said Dr. Frederick Barnett, director of imaging services at Metroplex Health System.
The scanner, which utilizes X-ray and computer technology to produce 3-D images, will allow patients the convenience of utilizing the imaging service in Lampasas rather than being sent to Metroplex Hospital in Killeen.
