Support for LAFTA

2010-01-05 / Letters

I am writing you today to ask you to make a donation on behalf of Lampasas Association for the Arts.

Now, I know you’ve had a tough year, as have we all. However, here are some reasons you should think about donating to LAFTA.

As you know, LAFTA is responsible for developing the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden, which is a pearl in the Central Texas region. We are really proud of this one; there are no other sculpture gardens in a 50- mile radius.

What does that do for Lampasas and the surrounding area? I’ll tell you:

· provides an opportunity for at least 21 school districts, not to mention our own, to take advantage of an outdoor teaching facility to provide for their students a fuller, more complete education.

· it is fast becoming a tourist destination for travelers driving through the Central Texas region.

· provides a contemplative place for senior citizens in nursing homes to visit.

· you get a tangible place where you can have a quiet cultural refuge from all our hectic schedules.

· a place to bring your children and visiting friends.

In order for us to continue to develop the park to meet the needs of visitors and the local population, we need you to help us with a donation. Your gift will make a huge difference in our being able to develop the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden and to fund the fifth anniversary of the “Art in the Park” event, which is in April.

Oh yes, we are, of course, a non-profit organization, and all of your donation can be written off this year’s taxes.

Perhaps the greatest benefit you’ll receive, though, is knowing you’re helping to ensure the future of the sculpture garden and ensure that students will continue to get a wonderful place for you and your loved ones to spend quality time.

Send a check to LAFTA, P.O. Box 816, Lampasas, TX 76550. Or you can call 556-6997, and put it on your credit card.

We from LAFTA appreciate anything you can do for the arts this year.
