Graveside services for Glenn Edward Grimes, 89, of Lampasas are Jan. 6, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Murphree Cemetery near Evant. Minister Reid Schaub will officiate.

Mr. Grimes died Dec. 30 at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.

He was born July 14, 1920, in Wynnewood, Okla.

Mr. Grimes grew up in Oklahoma where he graduated high school. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He married Lowell Dean Kinsey and had been a resident of Lampasas since the mid-1950s.

Mr. Grimes was a retired Civil Service employee. He worked at Fort Hood for many years.

Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; a grandson, Kelly Dean Grimes of Kansas; and a stepson and his wife, Ronnie and Marie Alexander of Lampasas.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bill Grimes, and by a sister, Dorothy Grimes.
