TSHL seeks candidate
The Area Agency on Aging of Central Texas is seeking an eligible candidate to fill the remaining term of office for the Texas Silver Haired Legislature. To be eligible the candidate must a registered voter satisfying state and local residency requirements and must be 60 years or older on Jan. 1 of the year they are elected to serve.
The purpose of the TSHL is to promote good government for all Texans through active participation in public and private affairs, develop a nonpartisan forum for older Texans to discuss senior citizen issues, debate those issues and establish legislative priorities for the Texas Legislature to consider. Also, TSHL provides advocacy training, enabling its members to continue their role within the community setting.
There are 117 delegates elected to serve in the TSHL, four of whom are elected to serve within the AAACT service area.
The candidate will be selected by the AAACT Aging Advisory Board members.
