DRT chapter holds annual Christmas dinner
Oran Milo Roberts Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas held its annual Christmas dinner on Dec. 7 at the Hancock Springs Hostess House with invited guests.
President Diane Davis welcomed members and guests, and chaplain June Davis gave the invocation and introduced Lisa and Tommy Cannon, new managers of the Hostess House.
The chaplain also introduced five women who are working on membership papers, accompanied by their husbands.
During and after dinner, Reavis Tomlinson of Briggs entertained on his keyboard.
Judy Smith presented a tribute to Pearl Harbor, assisted by several DRT members.
John Smith led in singing several Christmas carols, accompanied by Mr. Tomlinson.
Next meeting is March 1 at the home of Carol Wright. Hostesses are Charlene Nash and Mrs. Wright.
The program, “Texas Independence,” will be given by retired Lt. Col. Robert Wright III.
