St. Louis rookie Keith Null, of Lampasas, started in his second consecutive game Sunday when St. Louis hosted the Houston Texans.
Null completed 18 of 27 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown in the 16-13 loss. He also threw an interception, fumbled twice, losing one, and was sacked three times.
Null received the start after it was determined Kyle Boller could not play due to flu-like symptoms.
After falling behind 6-3, Null completed a two-yard touchdown pass to Danny Amendola with 1:47 left in the first half. It was the team’s lone touchdown on the day.
Houston kicker Kris Brown hit a 28-yard field goal with less than five minutes to win the game.
