A fire Thursday night near Adamsville left a woman homeless.
Lampasas County Fire Marshal Gene Harrison reported that the home of Carol Stokes at 907 County Road 3830 was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene. The call came in at 7:48 p.m.
Harrison said the brick house, with about 1,400 square feet of living space, was a total loss.
Ms. Stokes, who was home at the time of the blaze, escaped unharmed.
Firefighters were called back to the scene later that night after some hot patches flared up again, said Harrison.
Firefighters from Adamsville, Lampasas and Evant responded to the call. The cause of the blaze is undetermined at this time.
