36 Club plans fund-raiser
Members of the GFWC/TFWC 36 Club met at the Sweet Pickle for their Dec. 10 meeting with 20 members in attendance. Hostesses were members of the Social Committee, Bea Hohman, Linda Hutcherson, Kay Boone, Ann Johnson and Ellen McFarland.
President Amy McDaniel conducted the club’s business. Vice president Susan Detrick discussed a fund-raiser scheduled for February. The club plans to hold a taco lunch and bake sale. Tickets and plans will be presented at the next meeting.
Corresponding secretary Dorothy Duncan read thank-you notes from the Lampasas Fire Department and the Lampasas Elementary Benevolent Fund, and committee chairmen reported on their individual committees.
Mrs. Duncan, telecommunications chairman, asked that members respond to their e-mails to be sure the e-mail has been received and they can have an accurate head count.
Under new business, the club voted to send donations to the scholarship fund honoring deceased Capitol District president Ramona McPhail and to Vision Lampasas! to help defray Courtyard Square decoration expenses.
Next meeting is Jan. 14 at the Hostess House.
Texas Federated Women’s Club President Marjorie Williamson will be the guest speaker. Members should bring new items for M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
