Area churches plan Yule services, events

A number of area churches are offering services or special events for the holidays. A listing of some of those follows.

First Baptist Church of Lampasas will offer an adult choir program Sunday at 7 p.m. A Christmas Eve Lord’s Supper service is set at 6 p.m.

New Covenant Church will hold a Family Christmas worship service Sunday at 10 a.m.

At Grace Fellowship, Christmas treats will be offered at the Welcome Center on Christmas Eve at 5:30 p.m., and “Carols around the Steinway” is at 6 p.m.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church will hold a Christmas Eve Liturgy in English at 6 p.m., and a Christmas Eve Vigil Mass in English at 11 p.m.

Christmas Day Mass in Spanish is at 12:15 p.m. in Lampasas.

Christmas Eve Mass in English is set at Lometa’s Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 8 p.m.

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church will hold an early-evening Christmas Eve service at 4 p.m. and Midnight Mass at 11 p.m. Its Christmas Day covered-dish dinner will begin at noon. Meat will be provided by the church.

At First United Methodist Church, children’s Christmas pageants are set Sunday at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. A 5 p.m. Christmas Eve service will be held, followed by a La Posada candlelight service at 7 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church will offer carols and a Christmas Eve candlelight service beginning at 6 p.m.

Naruna Baptist Church has Sunday School at 10 a.m. and morning services each Sunday at 11 a.m. with worship, encouragement and fellowship.

School Creek Baptist Church’s Christmas program is Sunday at 11 a.m. A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 5 p.m.

Adamsville Presbyterian Church will hold worship this Sunday at 8:45 a.m. A combination Christmas Eve candlelight service will be hosted at Adamsville Baptist Church at 6 p.m.

Clear Creek Baptist Church will present “The Greatest Christmas Story of All Times -- the Birth of Our King” on Sunday at 11 a.m. An evening service is at 5 p.m. with congregational singing, music, a baptism and refreshments.

Bend United Methodist Church will hold worship services Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and a children’s Christmas service at 6 p.m. Communion and candlelight services are planned on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m.

Chapel Hill United Methodist Church will hold an Advent Candlelight Service Sunday at 5 p.m. with scripture lessons, carols and fellowship.
