LHS FFA member Kleg Kennedy works his hog in the show arena while swine judge Toby Long, agriscience teacher from Hamilton, evaluates the contestants. Over 115 hogs were exhibited on a cold Saturday morning, and many Lampasas 4-H and FA members made a great start leading up to the 2010 show season. Students from seven counties competed for premium money, champion belt buckles and showmanship awards.
Highlights of the 2009 District FFA Swine Show held at the Lampasas County Youth Livestock Showbarn, included Kleg Kennedy’s champion white OBP belt buckle, and Breighton Loeffler’s win with his reserve champion black OPB.
Lane Cardenas took first with his Hampshire hog, and J.W. Joanis was named pee-wee showmanship winner.
Taylor Loeffler was a finalist for the junior swine showmanship award.
