Mrs. Skiles

Funeral services for Frieda Joyce Skiles, 75, of San Angelo were Dec. 5 at Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo with the Rev. J.T. Tucker of VistaCare Hospice officiating. Burial followed at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Skiles died Dec. 2 at her residence.

She was born Dec. 31, 1933, in Lometa, the daughter of Johnnie and Vallie Daniels.

She married James T. Skiles on July 27, 1952, in Rockwall, and they were married for 55 years until his death on July 10, 2008.

Mrs. Skiles traveled as a military wife with her husband for more than 20 years. After his retirement, the couple moved to San Angelo, where she was a floral decorator for Glodt Flowers.

Mrs. Skiles, a seamstress, began working for R.G. Barry of San Angelo in 1971. She retired as a quality assurance supervisor in 1995 after 24 years.

Survivors include daughters and their husbands, Jamie and Kerry Rainey of San Angelo, Teresa and Bert Pina of Abilene, and Dawn and Jim Sanders of Amarillo; grandchildren, Brandon Hines of Corpus Christi, Shawn Pina, Tiffany Pina, Manuel Pina and John Michael Pina, all of Abilene, and Austin Sanders of Amarillo; sisters, Wilma Williams and husband, Billy, of Post, and Waunice Bessent and husband, Ronnie, of Lometa; numerous nephews and nieces; a great-niece; a sister-inlaw, Oneta Moore of San Angelo; and two cousins.

She was preceded in death by two nephews.
