The December Artist of the Month has a number of her works in private and public exhibits. Jan Witten Sewall is the Lampasas Art Gallery’s December Artist of the Month. Her artwork is on display in the foyer of My Girls and in the gallery.

Ms. Sewall’s work has been included in juried exhibitions in Taos, San Diego, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin. She has a display at Austin Bergstrom International Airport through January.

“Bali Dreams,” a framed abstract, was honored by the Southwestern Watercolor Society in Dallas in the 2009 juried exhibition. It also has been on exhibit at the Art Centre of Plano and was included in the Visual Coalition of Dallas Invitational Exhibition.

In May, Ms. Sewall’s painting “High Plateaux” was included in the 2009 Western Federation of Watercolor Societies Exhibition in San Diego where about 60 paintings are selected annually from entries by more than 1,000 artists.

A signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Ms. Sewall has been painting since the 1970s, and her works have been included in more than 150 national, regional and local exhibitions garnering numerous awards.

She juries exhibitions and conducts watermedia workshops and demonstrations, and has studied with more than 30 nationally noted artists.

Ms. Sewall and her husband returned to Lampasas in 2005. They have four children and nine grandchildren.

Her watermedia paintings are in corporate and private collections and group exhibitions throughout the U.S.

She teaches classes in Lampasas and Lakeway.
