The Lampasas Volunteer Fire Department is collecting money, new toys, bicycles and non-perishable foods for the holiday.

Applications to receive items are accepted until Friday at several local churches. Firefighters will hand out Christmas items on Dec. 12 from 8 a.m. to noon at the east end of the fire station only to those who have signed up.
