Lifetime Lampasas resident Melvin G. Glenn, 87, died Nov. 26, 2009, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.

Funeral services were Nov. 30 at Sneed Funeral Chapel with David Smith officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Mr. Glenn was born March 22, 1922, in Lampasas, the son of James Terrell and Addie Grace Jackson Glenn.

He was a truck driver and worked construction. For many years he was the projectionist at the local theater.

Survivors include six sons, Melvin Glenn Jr. and James Glenn and wife, Katherine, all of Llano, Terrell Gene Glenn of Kingsland, and John Shepard, Tony Glenn and Homer Glenn, all of Midland; two daughters, Vicki Glenn and Lorene Glenn; 28 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Benny Ray Glenn, Kenny Glenn and Gary Dale Glenn; by a daughter, Edna Grace Glenn; brothers, James and Robert Glenn; and a sister, Minnie.
