Vision Lampasas! has announced that the deadline for entering a float into the Hometown Holidays Lighted Storybook Parade has been extended to Friday. The parade has over 800 feet of floats already registered, but there is room for more.

“We have a terrific line-up,” said Janet Collins, parade organizer. “And we don’t want to discourage anyone or any group that would like to enter. There’s still time.”

Frosty the Snowman, Karem Shriners, Basket Ladies, Boy Scouts and Fort Hood’s First Cavalry Division horse detachment are just a few of the entries in the parade, sponsored by Windsor Foods.

Prizes will be awarded for best use of theme, best use of lights and most original.

For more information and for application forms and a parade route map, visit www.visionlampasas.com. Float staging will be Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. at Hanna Springs Pool parking lot, and walking participants should meet at First Presbyterian Church parking lot on Third Street. Judging will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The Lighted Storybook Parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Hometown Holidays, a weekend of family activities sponsored by Vision Lampasas!, Courtyard Square Association, Keystone Square Museum and the Lampasas County Historical Commission.
