36 Club members tour crafts village
For the November meeting, the GFWC/TFWC 36 Club toured Homestead, a Traditional Crafts Village in Elm Mott near Waco.
Members met in the parking lot of First Presbyterian Church and carpooled to Elm Mott. They preordered their lunch to be served at the deli and bakery at the village.
Attending were Beverly Wood, Crystal Hammett, Martha Green, Jean Phillips, Maryann Severn, Dorothy Duncan, June Davis and guest Rena Biggs.
The Traditional Crafts Village showcases a community of craftsmen who handcraft items and demonstrated how they are made, such as pottery, woodworking, fiber and milling grain into flour.
The village is open yearround and is readying for the annual craft fair held Thanksgiving weekend.
Classes in crafts are conducted all year. More information is available at www.homesteadcraftfair. com.
The 36 Club will meet Dec. 10 at the Hostess House parking lot to carpool to Lampasas High School for a Christmas program presented by Betty Ann Whitis’ Lampasas High School choir.
Following the concert, members will return to the Hostess House for refreshments provided by social committee members Bea Hohman, Linda Hutcherson, Kay Boone, Ann Johnson and Ellen McFarland.
