Hazel Joyce Setty, 81, died Oct. 31, 2009, in Carrollton.

Funeral services were Nov. 6 at First United Methodist Church of Springdale, Ark., with burial at The Bluffs in Springdale.

Mrs. Setty was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Lometa, to William Ernest and Mary Joyce Black.

She graduated from Lampasas High School and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lampasas and later of Springdale.

Mrs. Setty was a former member of the Lampasas Garden Club and the Pierian Club. She was a former co-owner of Home Furniture Co. of Lampasas.

Survivors include daughters, Sherry Rutty Witcher of Lampasas, Teresa Tharp Matthews and husband, Chuck, of Henderson, Nev., Cindy Tharp Kalinoski and husband, Chris, of Springdale; a son, David Rutty and wife, Judy, of Double Oak; stepdaughter, Tammy Tharp Utley and husband, Bill, of Pontiac, Mich.; a stepson, Mike Setty and wife, Barbara, of Mount Pleasant; a sister-in-law, Mary Black of Dallas; 17 grandchildren including Shelly Witcher Mahan and husband, Dane, of San Saba, Allison Witcher East and husband, Bobby, of Waco, Ken Witcher and wife, Gina, of Youngsville, N.C., and Andy Witcher and wife, Melissa, of Lampasas; and 22 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands Harold A. Tharp and Eu- gene W. Setty; a brother, Lane Black; and a stepdaughter, JoAnn Setty Dupree.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Lampasas.
