Club meets in San Antonio
Jerry and Sheila Christian were honored at the fall gathering of the San Antonio-Lampasas Club.
Christian is a former superintendent for the Lampasas Independent School District and Alamo Heights Independent School District in San Antonio.
He shared his experiences as chief executive officer for Sunshine Cottage, a school for the deaf in San Antonio. He also shared his impending plans to move to Lampasas.
Carey Deckard welcomed everyone before dinner was served. About 30 members and guests were present.
First-time attenders were Patricia MacIntosh and Mary and Jim Halvorson, all of Lometa, and Mary and Brian Knapp of Universal City.
After dinner and Christian’s presentation, Deckard called on everyone for the traditional sharing of news.
Before dismissal, Harrell and David Sutherland played “Amazing Grace” and the Lampasas High School song on their bagpipes. The club will meet again in April in Lampasas.
