Consider donation to area non-profits

2009-11-17 / Letters

We are in the beginning of the busiest time of the year, Thanksgiving/Christmas 2009. Soon we will all be in the throes of parties, events and family gettogethers. We will all struggle to come up with that unique gift for someone we care about.

I would like to offer a suggestion: We have an abundance of non-profits in our communities that find it hard at times to meet all their obligations to help a magnitude of less fortunate children and adults. None of us work in these non-profits for the money. We have a burning desire to make a difference in someone’s life.

Instead of buying Uncle Ted and Aunt Mary something they really don’t need or want, give a donation in honor of them to one of the many non-profits, and we will in turn send an acknowledgment to Uncle Ted and Aunt Mary, and we will also send you a thank you that can be a charitable contribution on your taxes. Any of us will also do memorials.

We hope for you a wonderful Thanksgiving and a magical Christmas.
