Mr. Jones
Funeral services for Leo Bertram Jones, 81, of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, were Nov. 16, 2009, at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary in Sandy, Utah. Burial followed at Holladay Memorial Park.
Mr. Jones died Nov. 12.
He was born Aug. 16, 1928, in Lakeview, Texas, to Walker and Mattie Jones. He spent his early years in Lampasas County.
Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion.
He married Mary Fay Johnson on May 14, 1949, and they settled in Salt Lake City, Utah, where Mr. Jones began a career in mining and construction.
He then worked for the Federal Aviation Administration retiring as a unit supervisor of the Northwest Mountain Region after more than 28 years of service.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Donna Love; sons and their wives, Rod and Sandi Jones of Anchorage, Alaska, and Marc and Cheryl Jones; a daughter-inlaw, Carrie and Doug Maupin; grandchildren, Lamoine Love, Leanne Love Miller, John Leo Love, Kristin Jones, Adam Jones, Blake Jones, Travis Jones and Shane Jones; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cleta Jones and Lilla Mae Carlile of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Jones, and by three brothers.
