The people you work with can make the difference

As an athletic director, I know the people I work with can make the difference in whether I have a positive attitude or negative attitude.

There are days when things at work might not go as planned, but the people around you can be a positive influence on how the day turns out. I try to tell my wife Vickie that no matter how bad something might be, there is always something positive that can be found with the situation.

I am fortunate in football to work with 17 men from the junior high to the high school who I feel have a positive attitude toward life. When you are around good people who do not have a negative attitude, how can your day go wrong? I am so blessed to have a good group of assistants who are positive, caring and some of the hardest workers I have been around. These qualities make it great to be a part of a coaching staff that is genuine and cares about kids.

I would like to thank the assistant football coaches for their effort, dedication and extra time put in this season, and for your overall love for our kids. The program has progressed due to the pride these assistants have for Lampasas High School and for our kids.

Being negative is easy, but you have to work to be positive. Being around positive people can make the difference in life and how you respond to negative situations.

Remember: Attitude is worth everything, so be positive and make a difference for your teammates.
